"I didn't think I could afford the luxury of an accountant to complete my tax return, but at the Tax Return Shop they did it for about £100, that's the same as a late submission penalty. A small fee to pay for peace of mind and reassurance."

Frequently Asked Questions
We often get asked questions and these are the most common! But if anything bothers you about your tax situation then please ask.
Q. Why do I need you to complete my Tax Return?
A. You don't. But to make sure you're not paying too much tax and that you are maximising your savings requires knowledge and experience. That's what we have, the knowledge to minimise your tax liability.
Q. How do you get paid?
A. Simple. We confirm the cost before we complete the tax return.
Once calculated we send you a draft copy of your tax return and ask for payment. We accept payment by cheque or paypal credit/debit card.
Once payment is cleared we submit your tax return to the Inland Revenue.
If you are due a tax refund it will be sent directly to you from the Inland Revenue.
Q. I don't live near to your office?
A. That's not a problem. This is a no-frills service, so we don't meet up. We communicate via mail, email, telephone & fax. Leaving you more time to get on with enjoying life.
Q. What is the deadline for submitting my tax return?
A. The deadline for all tax returns is 31st January following the tax year it relates to.
Q. What if I am late filing my tax return?
A. If you are late the Inland Revenue impose an automatic £100 fine. Interest starts to accrue from 1st February 2007 on 2005/2006 tax not yet paid. There will be a further £100 fine after 6 months.
Q. What happens if I can't pay my tax by the deadline?
A. The Inland Revenue will charge you interest for the tax paid late. You will also have to pay a surcharge of 5% of the unpaid tax if it is still not paid by 28th February. A further 5% will be charged if the tax is still unpaid after six months.
Q. I'm due a tax refund, when will I get this?
A. The Inland Revenue will issue your refund as soon as they have processed the return.
